Random information on the term “Aspiration”:

In phonetics, aspiration is the strong burst of breath that accompanies either the release or, in the case of preaspiration, the closure of some obstruents. In English, aspirated consonants are allophones in complementary distribution with their unaspirated counterparts, but in some other languages, notably most Indian and East Asian languages, the difference is contrastive, while in Arabic and Persian, all stops are aspirated.[citation needed]

To feel or see the difference between aspirated and unaspirated sounds, one can put a hand or a lit candle in front of one’s mouth, and say spin [spɪn] and then pin [pʰɪn]. One should either feel a puff of air or see a flicker of the candle flame with pin that one does not get with spin.

In the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), aspirated consonants are written using the symbols for voiceless consonants followed by the aspiration modifier letter ⟨◌ʰ⟩, a superscript form of the symbol for the voiceless glottal fricative ⟨h⟩. For instance, ⟨p⟩ represents the voiceless bilabial stop, and ⟨pʰ⟩ represents the aspirated bilabial stop.

Random information on the term “undefined”:

In mathematics, undefined has several different meanings, depending on the context. Such contexts include the following, among others:

In ancient times, geometers attempted to define every term. For example, Euclid defined a point as “that which has no part”. In modern times, mathematicians recognize that attempting to define every word inevitably leads to circular definitions, and therefore leave some terms, “point” for example, undefined (see primitive notion).

This more abstract approach allows for fruitful generalizations. In topology, a topological space may be defined as a set of points endowed with certain properties, but in the general setting the nature of these “points” is left entirely undefined. Likewise, in category theory a category consists of “objects” and “arrows”; again, these are primitive, undefined terms. This allows such abstract mathematical theories to be applied to very diverse concrete situations.

The expression 0/0 is undefined in arithmetic, as explained in division by zero (the expression is used in calculus to represent an indeterminate form).
